About David
David is an illustrator in Toronto, Canada, who has worked on magazines, and television.
David studied fine art at the University of Toronto at Mississauga. David was a happy boy who lacked the inner angst, and inner turmoil required for a successful time in a university fine arts programme. David did achieve angst and turmoil by the end of his studies, but it wasn't the artistic kind - he just ended up really jaded about academia in general.
In 2001, while studying animation at Max the Mutt Animation School, David decided he didn't want to do art anymore and joined the JET Programme as a Co-ordinator for International Relations. David was sent to rural northern Japan where, instead of translating, interpreting, or organizing international events, his job was to work as a primary school English instructor in a small squid-fishing, and apple-farming town.
After two years of teaching, snowboarding, running away from rampaging mountain monkeys, and eating way too many giant apples, David returned to Canada, and decided that he wanted to do art again.
And so he did.
Also, David likes donuts and pies.
